Overnight stay in Nairobi and then transport to Mission in Action
You will be greeted at Nairobi airport by one of our trusted taxi drivers. They will be holding a sign with your name on it so keep an eye out for them!
This will be a good time to get some Kenyan Shillings out from the ATM at the airport or convert what money you have. We advise you not to carry around large amounts of cash. Try and only take out what you need to cover the transport back to Nakuru and Accommodation (and for a drink and snack). You can withdraw more once you are in Nakuru.
The driver will then take you to the SDA guest house which is located on Milimani Road where you will stay the night.
In the morning a driver will come and collect you to take you to the ‘Matatu Stage’ (Taxi Pickup) and put you on a Matatu bound for Nakuru! They will arrange the fee for you with the driver and tell him where you will need to go. These taxis are always FULL and often slightly smelly... (its all about the experience!)
Once you get into Nakuru the driver of the Matatu will call Ivan and Mary and tell them you are almost in town. If Ivan and Mary are in town they will come and collect you... If they are not, they will arrange for a taxi to come and get you from where you are and take you to Mission in Action.
